Multiple Chances for Rain / Storms Next Week!

WEEKEND: Today will be the best of the two weekend days with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s across east Alabama and west Georgia. Sunday will be dry for the most part but clouds will return tonight and continue to increase Sunday morning becoming mostly cloudy by the time you get up. There is a 20% chance of rain Sunday with the best chance for rain well west of I-65. Rain chances will increase Sunday night after midnight. Highs Sunday in the upper 70s to low 80s low Sunday night mid 60s.

For now, any severe weather Sunday night is expected to stay west of I-65

MONDAY: It will be cloudy and rainy Monday with scattered showers and thunderstorms at times. Though its possible to see a few strong storms, widespread severe isn’t likely. High Monday in the upper 70s to low 80s. Rain chances will decrease Monday night with only a slight chance of rain after midnight. Overnight low of 68.

TUESDAY: Our best chance of strong to severe storms will come on Tuesday. A cold front is expected to advance toward Alabama Tuesday and though it will not make it all the way into the state, it will be close enough to provide enough forcing to fire off widespread thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon. There still remains some uncertainty but this appears to be a straight line wind and large hail event. It will be warm and muggy Tuesday with highs in the lower 80s and overnight lows in the upper 60s. We will track this potential severe threat on Dr. Don’s Weather.

WEDNESDAY – FRIDAY: Periods of rain / showers / thunderstorms all the way through Thursday. A few models are trying to extend the wet pattern through Friday. That is TBD. Temps will back off Wednesday – Friday with day time highs in the mid to upper 70s and overnight lows in the mid 50s.

Tornado Relief Benefit: Join us tonight at Farm Boys Sports Grill 1037 Main Street Roanoke, AL tonight as we come together to help the victims of the Corinth tornado. The event starts at 4:PM central and runs through midnight.
