Beautiful Holiday Weekend

It’s not often we see such nice weather on Memorial Day weekend. With the passage of yesterday’s cold front,  much drier air is rushing in from the northwest dropping humidity levels and the temp. Today’s daytime high will be in the low to mid 70s for much of east Alabama and west Georgia. Expect full […]

Strong Gusty Winds

Heavy thunderstorms are pushing into Georgia this evening. Strong winds of 25 – 35 mph are along the leading edge of the front. Rain will be ending for most locations in east Alabama within the next hour or so. Dry air will make for a fantastic Saturday with highs in the mid 70s.

Storms Moving East

Showers and Thunderstorms continue to move east across east Alabama. The line is currently crossing the Clay County / Randolph County line. So far the storms have behaved. I’m still tracking and will go live if necessary.

Showers Developing

Showers are beginning to develop across Randolph and Tallapoosa This afternoon. Coverage will continue to increase and a few storms could be strong to severe. The SPC has all of east Alabama and west Georgia under a marginal risk for damaging winds and hail. Stay Weather Aware and download Dr. Don’s Weather App!

Cool Down Coming

The hot and dry days of early summer continue through Friday. Daytime highs will remain in the upper 80’s to low 90’s through Friday. The chance of any location seeing a drop of rain is so small, it’s not worth a mention! A cooler pattern does look likely just in time for your holiday weekend. […]

Before the weekend is done it will feel like July. High pressure anchored off the Atlantic coast has a firm grip on the eastern United States and it shows! Daytime highs will reach the low to mid-90s by Tuesday and continue for most of the week. Enjoy today and tomorrow’s mid-80s because we will make […]
