The SPC has upgraded to a moderate risk (4 out of 5)of severe weather in south-central Mississippi and west-central Alabama primarily for damaging straight-line winds in access of 70 miles per hour. Numerous to widespread damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible in this area this afternoon. We will watch to see if this area is expanded east as this event unfolds. An enhanced risk (3 out of 5) remains in place for east Alabama.
