Great Weather Weekend!

A cold front moved through Alabama and Georgia overnight giving us with a crisp cool dry start to your Friday. Temps this morning dipped into the 40s over most of the area. We will warm into the low 70s this afternoon with ample sunshine.

As we get Mother’s Day Weekend under way, a beautiful and dry Saturday and Sunday with temps in the 70’s Saturday and low 80s Sunday. Clouds will slowly return Sunday afternoon and we will go mostly cloudy by Sunday night as our next storm system approaches from the west.

A cold front will stall out across the south and keep us in an active wet and occasionally stormy pattern Monday through Thursday. 2-3″ rain totals are likely next week but severe weather doesn’t look likely at this time as instability looks weak. It will not be a complete washout as we are looking at periods of showers and thunderstorms. Timing is difficult for now but we should be able to fine-tune the forecast by this time tomorrow.
