Tropical Depression 9 has formed over the central Caribbean Sea. This storm will track into the Gulf of Mexico where environmental conditions appear the be favorable for strengthening. At this time, impacts to Texas or Louisiana appear possible early to mid next week. Most forecast models bring this system to hurricane strength. The Hurricane Hunters are scheduled to fly a mission to the storm later today to collect more information.
