From the NHC: Tropical Storm Fred has moved inland across the FL Panhandle and is now passing through SE Alabama about 10 miles east of Dothan, Alabama. Widespread flooding is ongoing across portions of the eastern Panhandle and SE Alabama with many road closures and in some cases water entering structures.
Please heed all flood warnings and do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Fred will continue to the NNE through the night, continuing to produce tropical storm force winds and gusts along with heavy rainfall across SE AL and SW Georgia. The Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for areas still experiencing these winds but dropped along the waters, coast, and most of FL.
While the severe threat appears to have diminished for East Alabama and West Georgia, a rouge severe storm can not be completely ruled out. Flash Flooding remains the greatest threat across the area late tonight into tomorrow morning.
I will go live at 5:AM central with the latest information.
